Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea was bigger than ever this year!

Posted on June 26, 2019

For more than 20 years, Beauty Point Retirement Resort has held Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in May, helping to raise funds to support those affected by cancer. This year’s Morning Tea was held on Thursday 23rd May and it was bigger than ever! Over 100 cakes and scones were served along with delicious sandwiches and endless cups of tea!

Every dollar raised by Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea helps fund the Cancer Council’s life-saving research, prevention, support programs, and information. Mary Colak from Beauty Point Retirement Resort, organised the event with help from many other resort residents, staff and locals. The event raised a substantial amount of money which was donated to the Cancer Council.

As Mary says: “Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is the easiest way to bring people together to raise funds that can make a big difference to those impacted by cancer. So many people came from all over and supported the event. We had a Lucky Door Prize as well with free tickets to the movies plus many other prizes.”

So many scones, cakes and cups of tea!

The Biggest Morning Tea boasted over 60 scones alone and many cakes – some baked by local residents. Making it a morning to remember, Beauty Point Retirement chef, Mark Barron, served a whole range of beautiful sandwiches so the morning tea lived up to its name – definitely Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea!

The money raised by this event was donated to the Cancer Council and as they say on their website:

“Thanks to wonderful people like you, we’re making great strides towards our vision of a cancer free future. Thousands of lives have been saved, but there is so much more still to be done.”

Looking forward to seeing you at next year’s Biggest Morning Tea!
